                My Family

                Raj Rajendran Family
                My Wife Priya
Following the Indian tradition of "arranged marriages" and matching horoscopes, I got married to Priya in 1992. Very artistic (unlike me) she has a bunch of hobbies which include Tanjore Paintings, Stained Glass paintings and Photography. To know more about her and see samples of her art, please visit a site I had put together for her as my gift to her. She is currently working in a health care company in PA

                My Son
Rohit is now a days never found without his iTouch. He has more games and applications on it than most people I know. He also has developed his own application for iTouch using his mini mac. Currently in the 10th grade, he divides his time between his different games consoles and spending time watching TV !

                My Education

I did reasonably well all the way up to the XII class when I had to make a choice for my career. Joined the engineering college for a BTech in Electrical Engineering, I surprise myself with a Gold Medal !. My passion for computer and technology was very evident by the elaborate computer based project I completed. My professor had to ask me to stop haunting the computer room so that others had a chance to use the computer !

                Did I enjoy my education?
I think so. It was fun and I had the aptitude for learning.

Did I think it is useful ?
                Yes and No.
Yes - It does give you a discipline in learning which I find lacking in the Western world.
No- It misses some of the crucial real world teaching as well as does not really expand the mind to become open for new opportunities. Confidence and communication are other areas where I think the Indian schooling could be improved.
