My Projects: MINSIS (Computerized Mine Planning Software)

Name of the Project

MINSIS (Computerized Mine Planning Software)

Business Problem

There is a need to plan the mining of the lime stones mine so that there we can achieve consistent quality over a long period by properly blending the stone from different sections of the mine.

Project Description

The project was to develop a software to help a mining engineer to plan for the long term and short term mining. The product consisted of three programs which allowed the mining engineer to input the data from drilling operations, study and analyze the mine deposits as well as simulate mining for the long term and short term periods. The software had 2D and 3D graphics so as to view the mine in various stages of simulation.

It cuts down the time required by the mining engineer to plan the operations by over 90% as compared to the manual means.
