Build a robust data model for the platform and migrate data from their existing systems into this new platform database
Integrate with other agency systems to provide a consolidated view of the data
| Designed a Solution using Microsoft Office SharePoint (MOSS) platform Designed an Intranet, Extranet and Internet user experience to allow different user profiles to consume the services Designed a complete infrastructure platform to meet the security and scalability needs of the business Design a work flow framework to meet the process requirements of over 9 departments Designed a data store strategy of storing information in MOSS Content Database as well as regular SQL Server tables. This also included a Data Access Layer to manage transactions across these data stores Designed the approach for Data Migration to mitigate risks while ensuring data quality Designed a Governance model for the solution Designed a Web Services based approach as well as proper use of the Business Data Connectivity (BDC) service to integrate data from external systems
| Landmark Preservation Comission (USA) | The Company I was working for : Andersen (Formerly Arthur Andersen) (6) | | | The company had acquired over 27 smaller companies and there was a need to integrate all of these units as one | It began with the redefinition of the businesses process. New functionality was also introduced including a secure alumni web site features | | | | There was a need for an online presence so as to enable the registered end user to search and retrieve information from a in house database
|
The web site was developed with a good User Interface and cool looks using Flash and audio. The active server pages connected to the SQL server and retrieved information. There was a MS access tool developed to synchronize the local data to the online database. Click on the images below to see images of the web site
| | | | There was a need for an online presence for the group |
The site was developed by me along with the graphics division. I t has cool flash introduction, Detailed bios of the partners and the functionality to call or page the partners from the web site. The user could also send an email to the Partners. Image 1 shows the flash intro. Image 2 below shows the front page. Image 3 shows the click to talk and Emergency contact options for the partners.

The user was able to choose the check in the main frame system and view it from a PC based web browser | | | | | Project for Prudential where we developed an Intranet application which allowed the managers to track the work done by their team and generate a number of reports. This used Microsoft technology | | | | | Developed for DTCC, this solution allowed legal notices to be converted into PDF documents and uploaded to the web site for the users to search and retrieve it. It was totally automated and had an extensive alerting and report bursting solution
| | | | | Developed for a start up company this allowed them to manage large amount of customer information and burst emails based on specific conditions/criteria. | | | | | | | | The Company I was working for : Hughes Software System (4) | | | Based on my previous experience of providing support to developers, I created the vision and the high level design for a product which could provide similar support environment. This was well received by the leadership and a team was dedicated to design and develop the product | | | | | As Java was getting popular, I set up a team to introduce this technology to the rest of the company. There was a need to optimize the design of these equipment
Part of the Research and Development project of the Institute. | The software developed permits optimized designs of the cyclone. It consisted of 5 programs to design new cyclones, optimize existing designs as well as study the effect of different parameters on the performance | | | | There was a need to collect and analyze the field pollution data collected from cement plants and generate suitable reports. | A set of 3 programs was developed to predict the ground level concentrations. The first is based on the mathematical model developed by NCB. The second program permits the study of the effect of various parameters as well as validation of model. The third program permits data entry, report generation as well as drawing of the wind rose diagram (a meteorological parameter) | | | | While designing a ventilation system, the duct sizes have to be designed based on a number of parameters. There is a large number of iterative calculations to be done. There was a need to automate this process |
The project was to develop a software which the use can interactively construct a graphical duct layout and then perform the required calculations. The final output would contain all the required dimensions to construct the ducting system. | | | | There are multiple selections possible for selecting mining equipment based on the mine parameters. There was a need to automate and standardize it. | The project was to develop a software which accepts a number of parameters from the user and based on a in built logic, suggests possible mining equipment from a internal database. | | | | There was a need to track the equipment used for Pollution control as well as calculate performance of these equipments | The project was to develop a software to facilitate a person to enter the details of the equipment in cement plants around the country and then generate exhaustive reports. It also facilitated calculations of performance of these equipment | | | | There is a need to plan the mining of the lime stones mine so that there we can achieve consistent quality over a long period by properly blending the stone from different sections of the mine. | The project was to develop a software to help a mining engineer to plan for the long term and short term mining. The product consisted of three programs which allowed the mining engineer to input the data from drilling operations, study and analyze the mine deposits as well as simulate mining for the long term and short term periods. The software had 2D and 3D graphics so as to view the mine in various stages of simulation.
It cuts down the time required by the mining engineer to plan the operations by over 90% as compared to the manual means. | |
